Founder Lauren Ginsberg has extensive experience working with prenatal clients across all three trimesters. This is not a modified group class. Prenatal Pilates at Doru is a thoughtfully designed private session built around exactly where you are in your pregnancy, what your doctor has cleared, and what your body actually needs right now.
Each session provides access to the industry’s best equipment: Merrithew V2 Max Reformers with Towers, Split-Pedal Stability Chair and Cadillac Trapeze Table.
Pilates during pregnancy is not just safe for most women, it is genuinely encouraged by many doctors and medical professionals as one of the most beneficial forms of exercise available during that time. The reasons go beyond general fitness.
Reformer Pilates focuses heavily on the muscles that carry the most load during pregnancy and labor. Pelvic stabilization, glute strengthening, transverse abdominal activation, and posterior chain work are all central to our prenatal programming. These are the muscles that support your growing belly, protect your lower back, stabilize your hips, and prepare your body for the physical demands of delivery.
Many pregnant clients come to Doru experiencing sciatica, pelvic misalignment, or lower back pain that intensifies as the pregnancy progresses. Targeted prenatal Pilates work, specifically pelvic floor engagement, glute activation, and hip stability exercises, addresses these issues directly and provides real relief while building the strength needed to carry pregnancy more comfortably.
For most women, yes, and it is encouraged by many medical professionals as one of the best forms of exercise during pregnancy.
